A stunning piece for not only the Matisse art lover, but also for the woman who loves creative style and simple beauty! This Matisse-inspired Pearl Necklace is reminiscent of Matisse's paper cut leaves. The sterling silver pendant is hand cut and a freshwater pearl adds a lovely finishing touch. It measures 1 1/2" x 5/8" and hangs on a 20" sterling box chain. The piece is beautifully presented in a black and silver checkered jewelry box for gift giving. Inside the box is a small insert card with the text "Pure Joy".
A silversmith by trade, Deirdre Olson Gentolizo has been creating joyful gifts and jewelry since 1991. She draws her inspiration from all sorts of creative forces woven through her life, from a symphony to an art gallery to nature. The artist's Matisse pieces were inspired by her vacation in Vence, France where she visited The Chapelle du Rosaire de Vence, often referred to as the Matisse Chapel. A new love for Matisse's later work was born during this excursion. In fact, a hand-painted Matisse inspired mural adorns the exterior of Deirdre's studio in Minneapolis. She even named her beloved dog "Matisse."
