Carving Out Time is a monumental print series by LaToya M. Hobbs, a Baltimore-based painter and printmaker. This first publication on the artist presents five towering woodcuts depicting a day balancing her roles as wife, mother, educator, and artist. The work explores time and labor through intimate family scenes, while referencing visionary Black artists like Basquiat, Catlett, and Marshall. A deeply personal yet universal meditation on creative practice and daily negotiation.
